The Aziza Ghori Memorial Endowment Fund will be created as part of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp permanent endowment. All income to the Aziza Ghori Fund will be invested as part of the Blue Lake Endowment managed by the trust department of National City Bank.

The Aziza Ghori Memorial Fund will provide perpetual scholarship assistance for students attending Blue Lake with a financial need who are enrolled at Haigh Elementary School located in Dearborn Michigan. If Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is unable to identify a student from Haigh Elementary, a student from Eastwood Elementary School in Windsor Ontario or a student from Bryant Middle School located in Dearborn Michigan will be chosen for the Aziza Ghori Memorial Scholarship.

The endowment fund that provides scholarships has been established with a contribution of $5,000.  This will provide a half tuition scholarship for a student who is chosen for the Aziza Ghori Scholarship. When the endowment fund balance reaches $15,000 it is considered a fully endowed scholarship. A fund at this balance provides a full tuition scholarship. Aziza will be remembered in perpetuity through this endowed scholarship in her name.

The Aziza Ghori Foundation has made a $2,000 grant to the Chelsea Center for the Development of Arts to endow a Scholarship in perpetuity in Aziza's name and to honor her  love for the arts.  The endowment will fund an annual youth grant award to a 5th grade student from the Chelsea school system who is enthusiastic about the arts and shows promise as an artist. The grant will be for a one-week Summer camp or a six-week Fall/Winter session.  In addition, to introduce the grant, a one-time youth workshop for all elementary school aged students will also be convened in November 2003.

The grant will be announced in late September 2003 with a press release submitted to the Chelsea Standard along with a related article on "suction entrapment" to create awarness about the dangers and alarming frequency of this type of accident.

Additional press releases will be sent to the Ann Arbor News and the Ann Arbor Observer. Click on the next button to see press release.
